EMMANUEL BOATENG
SAN DIEGO FC
Emmanuel Boateng is a Right to Dream Ghana Academy graduate, currently playing for San Diego FC, part of the Right to Dream community, in Major League Soccer.
Originally from Accra, Emmanuel joined Right to Dream at a young age and quickly stood out for his speed, creativity, and drive. At just 15, he earned a scholarship to attend Cate School in California, becoming one of the academy’s early pioneers to move to the US as a student-athlete.
He made history at Cate, becoming the first student in the school’s 100+ year history to win the Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year award in the 2011-12 season. A year later, he skipped his senior year of high school to play college soccer at UC Santa Barbara.
Since turning professional, Emmanuel has built a remarkable career across Sweden and the United States, racking up over 200 appearances in the MLS and winning the MLS Cup with Columbus Crew in 2020. His journey has taken him through clubs like LA Galaxy, DC United, New England Revolution, and now San Diego FC, where he continues to lead with experience and energy on and off the pitch, becoming a role model within the Right to Dream community and inspiring the next generation across our global academies.
