In 2023, Right to Dream brought its unique brand of football excellence and holistic youth development model to the United States, announcing the establishment of its newest academy in San Diego - the fourth academy in the Right to Dream community.

Building on the successes witnessed in Ghana, Denmark, and Egypt, the San Diego academy is set to become the epicenter of football excellence and innovation in North America.

Scheduled to welcome its inaugural class in 2025, the Right to Dream Academy in San Diego is envisioned as a holistic experience, designed to nurture talent both on and off the pitch. The scholarship-based academy is committed to offering top-tier education and world-class soccer training to students aged 11-18, ensuring that enrolled residential athletes receive full five-year scholarships irrespective of their football performance.

Located on Sycuan tribal land in El Cajon, the academy will be an integral part of the San Diego FC’s 125,000 square-foot campus, featuring a 50,000-square-foot state-of-the-art sports performance facility shared by the San Diego first team and academy teams. The facility boasts five full-sized soccer fields, including three natural turf fields and two synthetic turf fields, providing a world-class training environment for young athletes.

The academy will also see the renovation and repurposing of 10 existing hotel buildings to serve various functions within the community, including student housing, school facilities, employee housing/offices and guest accommodations.

“The San Diego FC Performance Center and Right to Dream Academy will enable us to develop future generations of world-class players across greater San Diego. This initiative reaffirms our commitment to create opportunities for young talent to flourish and our vision to become the epicenter of football excellence and innovation in North America.”
