Simon Adingra wins 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast

Right to Dream Graduate and Brighton & Hove Albion winger Simon Adingra was a key figure in Ivory Coast's triumphant campaign in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

While the headlines rightly spotlight Simon's performance — Man of the Match honors, TWO assists, and Young Player of the Tournament accolade — his journey tells a deeper story.

From Right to Dream International Academy to FC Nordsjaelland to Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and now AFCON 2023 glory, Simon’s journey showcases the impact of hard work, dedication, and seizing the right opportunities.

It tells a story of a whole community — scouts, coaches, staff, teachers, and players— unlocking the potential of every talent. From spotting raw talent to creating accessible pathways to success. And building a culture of excellence from day one.

Gareth Henderby, Head of Right to Dream International Academy, shares:

"From the start, we saw he was quick, very agile, and had the right attitude. He had this raw talent, and his experience with the International Academy gave him a platform to add more structure to his game and build his confidence. He believed he could make it."

And he certainly did.

But Simon's not alone. Alongside him, many Right to Dream graduates who left their mark at global football stage underscoring the depth of talent everywhere, including West Ham United's Mohammed Kudus and Lyon's Ernest Nuamah, and FC Nordsjaelland's Adamo Nagalo who also represented their nations at the 2023 AFCON.

Here's to Simon and all our graduates, chasing their dreams and inspiring the next generation of talent in our academies and beyond.
