As San Diego prepares for the official launch of San Diego FC's Right to Dream Academy, Sir Mohamed Mansour, Chairman of Right to Dream and San Diego FC, has shared his vision for what this milestone means, both for the city and for the global Right to Dream community.

The Academy, which will have its official launch ceremony on Friday, brings Right to Dream proven model of combining elite football development, world-class education, and character development to North America for the first time.

In his message, Sir Mohamed highlighted how the Academy continues a model that's already thriving in Ghana, Denmark, and Egypt, producing exceptional footballers as well as leaders off the pitch.

“The first class of the San Diego FC’s Right to Dream Academy will be the leaders and the examples of successful footballers around the world in the years to come.”

The San Diego Academy is designed to integrate closely with San Diego FC, located on a state-of-the-art campus that also hosts the Sharp Healthcare Performance Center, home of San Diego FC first team. There, student-athletes will train and study alongside the club’s first team, gaining daily exposure to the standards of professional football.

“San Diego FC and the Academy are built in unison to work together. Young players will see the players from the first team as role models for the future.”

For Sir Mohamed, the Academy will not only focus on developing players for the pitch but also role models for their communities.

“Right to Dream Academy graduates are different because not only are they exceptional in their football or education ability, but also in the values they have and their ability to give back to their communities.”

“Our belief has been that Right to Dream brings the global community back to the cities it’s from, and the cities to the global community. This is what we have done in Ghana, this is what Right to Dream has done in Denmark, this is what Right to Dream will do in San Diego.”
