Andreas Schjelderup Shines Again: Danish Superliga's Spring Profile 2024

Andreas Schjelderup

Our very own Andreas Schjelderup, the dynamic FC Nordsjælland winger and a product of our Denmark Academy, has been named the Profile of the Spring 2024 in the Danish Superliga!

If you’ve been following Andreas’s journey, this news might not come as a big surprise. This isn't his first rodeo; Andreas also claimed the award for the Profile of the Autumn in 2022. Talk about consistency and talent!

The Spring Profile win isn't just a random accolade. It's voted on by the Superliga's head coaches. So, it's safe to say this award is a massive deal and a testament to Schjelderup's skills and dedication.

"Of course, it is a great recognition. These coaches who vote know football. I have great respect for them and their talented teams that we have played against, so I am very grateful," said Schjelderup.

FC Copenhagen coach Jacob Neestrup praised Schjelderup's ability to blend individual brilliance with team play.

“Andreas Schjelderup has shown himself to be a profile who can both be part of a good collective, but at the same time make a difference as an individualist. In this way, he has decided football matches in FC Nordsjælland's favour,” said Neestrup.

Meanwhile, Randers FC coach Rasmus Bertelsen highlighted his game-changing qualities.

“Andreas Schjelderup has shown individual quality at a level that reaches far beyond the Superliga, and he has in several different ways been the game-winner time and time again,” he added.

Andreas, currently on loan from Portuguese side SL Benfica, has been a standout player since his debut with FCN at 16. And he has been unstoppable ever since. He's even the youngest player to score a Superliga goal for the Superliga side. Now 19, he’s netted 27 goals in 93 official matches. Just this spring, he has netted seven goals and four assists in nine Championship games. Read: FC Nordsjælland starlet Ernest Nuamah scoops hat-trick of awards

This win reminds us of last year’s Spring Profile winner, Ernest Nuamah, another academy graduate currently playing for Olympique Lyon.

So, let’s all take a moment to celebrate Andreas Schjelderup – the Spring Profile of the Danish Superliga!

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for him and our other talented graduates.
