As part of our commitment to protecting our people by effectively managing personal data, we are pleased to introduce our updated Data Protection Policy supported by a mandatory online GDPR-training module, developed to align with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
WHAT IS GDPR AND
WHY DO WE NEED THIS POLICY?
GDPR is a European regulation designed to protect individuals' personal data, ensuring it is handled lawfully, transparently, and securely. It sets out strict requirements for organisations to safeguard the personal data they collect and process. Non-compliance with this regulation can result in fines of up to €20m.
This policy provides clear guidance on how we, as an organisation, will adhere to these regulations. It explains:

This policy is crucial not only to comply with regulation but also for maintaining trust with our fans (customers), partners, and colleagues.
MANDATORY E-LEARNING ON DATA PROTECTION OBLIGATIONS
This training is designed to ensure that everyone in the organisation understands their responsibilities under GDPR and to provide practical insights into handling personal data correctly and avoiding common pitfalls.
We expect all team members to complete this training by the end of the year as it is critical to ensuring our collective compliance.

WHAT IS SAFEGUARDING AND WHOSE RESPONSIBILITY IS IT?
Safeguarding means keeping children and adults who may be at greater risk safe from harm and abuse. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
WHO DOES THE POLICY APPLY TO?
The policy applies to all Right to Dream staff, players, student athletes, parents/guardians, volunteers, partner organisations and their representatives, and any person visiting our clubs and academies or attending our programs and activities.
WHY THIS POLICY IS IMPORTANT?
This policy details our commitment, minimum standards, and approach to safeguarding across our clubs and academies. It provides everyone with clear guidelines for identifying and reporting concerns and ensures consistent handling of safeguarding issues.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO NEXT?
STEP 2
When you have completed the training, please save your certificate as you will be asked to upload it to our Sharepoint site once you've started working.
STEP 4
Attend any location-specific safeguarding training when invited by your local Designated Safeguarding Officer or People Partner.

You will be invited to this workshop by your local People Partner during your first 12 months of employment.
