SIMON
ADINGRA
SUNDERLAND
Simon Adingra started off his journey at Right to Dream International Academy, where he quickly learned to adapt, on and off the pitch.
Navigating new environments, languages, and cultures, he pushed himself outside his comfort zone, growing in confidence, character, and resilience. He was part of the team that won the 2019 Gothia Cup.
He began his pro journey at FC Nordsjælland, making his debut in April 2021 against Copenhagen. His next step came in June 2022, when he signed for Brighton & Hove Albion, then spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Union SG in Belgium, where he sharpened his game and gained valuable experience in the 2022/23 season.
After returning to the Premier League and making his mark with Brighton, Simon moved to Sunderland AFC in July 2025 on a five-year deal.
On the international stage, he earned his first senior call-up for Ivory Coast in March 2023, and less than a year later, played a pivotal role in their AFCON 2023 triumph—delivering two assists in the final, being named Man of the Match, and taking home the Young Player of the Tournament award.
