HUMANITIES TEACHER

RIGHT TO DREAM, GHANA

The Humanities Teacher will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education across the Humanities discipline at the RtD Ghana Academy. The role supports the holistic development of student-athletes, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, cultural awareness, and global citizenship.

The teacher will cultivate an environment in which students appreciate the social, cultural, historical, and geographical contexts that shape the world.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic Humanities lessons aligned with the IGCSE curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans that respond to curriculum objectives and cater to diverse learning needs and styles.
• Incorporate a range of instructional strategies and educational technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
• Prepare students for internal and external assessments through structured teaching, guided revision, and regular practice tasks.
• Conduct formative and summative assessments to measure understanding and track progress.
• Record and report student performance in accordance with Academy policies and academic standards.
• Create an inclusive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic excellence.
• Support students in developing strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback that supports student growth and goal attainment.
• Participate in professional development activities to remain abreast of pedagogical best practices and curriculum developments.
• Contribute to the review, development, and enhancement of Humanities teaching materials and curriculum content.
• Organise and support extracurricular activities that enrich students’ understanding of Humanities subjects (e.g., debates, cultural events, field trips).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a Relevant Humanities Field.

Experience
• A minimum of two years’ teaching experience in a Humanities subject at the IGCSE level.
