Right to Dream graduate, Umar Farouk Osman left the academy in 2013 having been awarded a scholarship to attend The Hotchkiss School in Connecticut, USA.

Since joining Hotchkiss, Umar has been a fantastic ambassador for Right to Dream having won a series of state and national sporting awards whilst continuing his education. 

A star on the field and in the classroom, his talent and strength of character was recognised when he was named the National Gatorade High School Soccer Player of the year for 2017 - an accolade previously won by fellow Right to Dream graduates Ema Boateng and Abu Danladi.

The 2016 Connecticut Soccer Coaches Association’s Player of the Year, Osman was involved in 28 of Hotchkiss’ 30 goals that season, scoring 19 goals and notching 9 assists. He also participated in the High School All-American Game in North Carolina in December and concluded his prep soccer career with 63 goals and 45 assists.

Umar has maintained a B average in the classroom and signed a national letter of intent to play soccer on scholarship at the University of Michigan beginning Autumn 2017.
