With the support of our Official Education Partner Tullow, Right to Dream Academy is putting STEM subjects at the heart of its curriculum. By focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, Right to Dream seeks to close the skills gap that is prevalent amongst young people in West Africa.

As well as equipping our students with the skills needed for the workplace, our collaboration with Tullow is designed to reach out to our youth network to increase awareness of vital new technology skills such as coding and computer programming.

As part of our STEM community outreach programme, our students and staff have designed a tailored LEGO based curriculum to teach in local village schools. Students are taught basic computer programming and robotics using the LEGO Education Mindstorms kit.

As well as introducing subjects and materials that would otherwise go untaught, the project has also had a positive influence on school attendance, proving that there is not only a need for such subjects but a genuine enthusiasm to learn these vital skills.
