At the age of 11, Mathias Jensen began to train at FC Nordsjælland, while still playing for his childhood club in Kalundborg. As an U15 player, Jensen joined FCN on a regular basis.

Physically, Jensen was not as developed as his teammates, which was why he struggled a bit in the beginning. Things turned around in his second year as an U17 player and he ended his time in the academy as the captain of the U19 team.

Four years after his arrival, Jensen made his debut on the senior squad at the age of 19. And just after he turned 22, he was promoted as captain of the senior squad. In his last season, the midfielder scored 12 goals, contributed with seven assists, won the club's Player of the Year Award, and was named Talent of the Year at the Danish Football Awards.

Mathias’ eternal hard work and dedication took him to Celta Vigo in La Liga, but now he is frolicking at Brentford’s midfield in the English Championship. His performances in England have earned him a spot on the Danish national team. So far, he has four appearances, but hopefully there are many more to come.
