Lower Academy Head Coach: Under 10 - 12, Ghana

Roles & Responsibilities


The Lower Academy Head Coach will be expected to support the football Department in the following ways.


General

  • Plan and deliver football coaching sessions to be conducted on the Lower Academy players with the aim of improving and developing them to the best possible level

  • Implement the Academy coaching Style of Play and principles ensuring that clear and consistent messages are always communicated.

  • Work within the Training Methodology and Principles.

  • Work in conjunction with the Head of Lower Academy, Technical Director and Lower Academy performance staff to plan, deliver and review the coaching programme for Lower Academy players.

  • Ensure all multidisciplinary objectives across macro, meso and micro timeframes are achieved.

  • Lead preparations and manage all aspects of the U10-U12 games programme.

  • Discuss team and squad selections with the Head of Lower Academy & Technical Director prior to each fixture.

  • Assist in Position Specific training for Upper academy players.

  • Ensure players Individual Development Plans are up to date and continually monitored and assessed with the players regularly.

  • Assist and collaborate with various components of the football department i.e., Lower Academy staff, Analysts, Sports science and Medical

  • Ensure all data on kitman labs is kept fully up to date and accurate for all training and games.

  • Develop a 6-week training plan for U10-U12 players, in line with the RTD U10-U12 Tactical Periodization.

  • Organise and lead weekly team tactical and individual player progress meetings with the Technical Director, Head of Lower Academy, and members of the multidisciplinary performance staff.

  • Assist other components of the academy i.e., Character, purpose, and School with the aim of having more information to support the academy player.

  • Assessment of Trialists in the academy and report to the Technical Director

Matches, Tournament And Tours

  • Assist when required in the organization of a football tournament and matches hosted at Right to Dream Academy environment

  • Assist when required in the organization and planning of tours and trips to play in football tournaments in Ghana and abroad

Scouting

  • Upon the instruction of the Technical Director, the Lower Academy Lead Coach will be expected to support scouting duties/activities of various age in Ghana and abroad

Knowledge, Skills & Experience


Essential

  • Experience of working with players at U10-U12 elite level.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.

  • Strong Presentation skills.

  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, welfare, and equality.

  • Competent in Microsoft Office and Apple software packages.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working abroad.

  • Competent in analysis software packages, i.e., Sports Code, Hudl and Wyscout.

Qualifications and Training


Essential

  • UEFA/CAF (or equivalent) B License or Advanced Youth Award

  • Basic First Aid for Sport.

  • In date police clearance report, i.e., PVG, DBS

Desirable

  • Degree in Sports Coaching/Science, teaching, or Pedagogy.
