“By integrating academy players from Denmark and West Africa, we can develop homegrown players within a modern, global context.”
Tom Vernon, Right to Dream Founder

In January 2016, Right to Dream founder Tom Vernon, with a group of investors acquired Danish Superliga team, FC Nordsjælland, with a vision to ultimately build a team made up entirely of academy players. This unique partnership is showing the football world an exciting development model that can be both successful and sustainable.

With an average age of just 22, FC Nordsjælland is committed to developing young players by offering them opportunities to step up to the professional level.

Deepened integration

As Right to Dream graduates break into the first team and become firm fan favourites, the integration between the organisations runs all the way through the academy players and staff. From collaboration between the medical teams and coaching staff, to annual trips and tournament appearances where Danish and West African players develop and play together from an early age.

Character Development

Since FC Nordsjælland became part of the Right to Dream Group, the Character Development programme has been rolled out across the club - from the youth teams to the senior squad. This not only creates a shared sense of values across the group, it is also having a positive impact on individual players and team members to forge a winning mentality and a commitment to giving back to the community.
