Emmanuel Boateng is a prime example of Right to Dream's mission to combine elite footballing ability with academic excellence. Ema graduated from the academy in 2009 and left for the US after winning a scholarship to the Cate School.

Whilst at Cate, Ema combined his studies with playing for local clubs Santa Barbara Soccer Club and South Coast Strikers. During his high school career, Ema experienced many personal successes culminating in being the first ever Right to Dream graduate to win the Gatorade US National Boys Soccer Player of the Year in 2012,

That season, Boateng scored 32 goals and led Cate to consecutive CIF Southern Division 7 Championships in 2011 and 2012.

Keen to extend his academic career, Ema went on to secure a scholarship at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His stellar performances for the University soccer team brought him to the attention of a number of European Clubs and in 2013 he signed professional terms with Swedish side, Helsinborgs IF.

After two and a half seasons in Sweden, Ema was signed by MLS heavyweights LA Galaxy and now plys his trade on the flanks alongside former Barcelona forward Giovani Dos Santos and ex England International Ashley Cole.
