Abdul Majeed Waris is a second generation Right to Dream graduate who plays for FC Lorient and the Ghanaian national team.

Born in Tamale in Northern Ghana, Majeed Waris started his career at Right to Dream Academy aged twelve. He was awarded an elite sports scholarship to study at Hartpury College in the UK, before signing a professional contract with BK Hacken in Sweden in 2010.

After being named the Allsvenskan’s Player of the Year in 2012, Waris left for Lokomotiv Moscow which included a loan spell at Valenciennes in France's Ligue 1. He later moved to Trabzonspor in Turkey before completing a high-profile move back to Ligue 1 with Lorient, signing a four year contract. 

Waris has achieved significant milestones for Right to Dream, becoming the first graduate to score for the Black Stars. He is also the first to feature at a FIFA World Cup, representing Ghana at the 2014 tournament in Brazil, he played against Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal at the Estadio Nacional in Brasilia.
