RtD Graduate, Waris, Scores in Europa League Qualifiers
July 2011
Last night, Thursday, the Right to Dream Academy, in partnership with Vodafone Ghana, celebrated their first graduate playing in a European competition. Abdul Majeed Waris played a crucial role in BK Hacken’s 5-1 victory over Kaerjeng in the Europa League qualifiers and doubled the scoring in the 42nd minute of the match. He also played a key role in three further penalties with his efforts being honored receiving the man-of-the-match award.
In 2008 Waris graduated from the Right to Dream Academy to further his education and sporting development at Hartpury College, University of the West of England. Whilst at the Academy he was both a responsible and active member of the school who also worked hard on the pitch excelling at powerful strikes and headers. In 2010, he signed his first professional contract with BK Hacken of Sweden.
Congratulations to Waris for a great performance – keep up the good work!
