Right to Dream Graduates - Success on the Pitch!
OLD AKRADI September 2010
AS RIGHT to Dream Graduate Mohammed Abu settles into life in Norway on loan following his signing by Manchester City, three new RtD Graduates are making the news.
16 year-old central midfielder ‘Bismark' represented Ghana as they won 3-2 on aggregate against Zambia in the first round of qualifying matches for the African U17 Championship to be held in Rwanda in 2011.
Bismark enthused: "I feel incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to represent Ghana in both legs of the match against Zambia. It is very rewarding to be able to take the skills I have developed at Right to Dream to help my country. My main focus now is to help the team qualify for the African U17 Championships by beating Senegal in November. We have a very strong squad and an excellent coaching team so I am confident going into the next round."
His RtD classmate Enock was also called up but remained an unused substitute on this occasion.
Meanwhile, another "RtD old boy" 19 year-old forward David 'Titi' Accam, currently on scholarship at Hartpury College in the UK, successfully competed at NIKE's The Chance' trials, as one of 100 young hopefuls fighting to secure one of just four places at the world final trials to the 'Nike Academy'.
Titi was proud to be congratulated by Arsene Wenger himself when he made the final four. "I am very happy about this opportunity - this is the chance every young player wants! I now have a chance to show what I can do and hopefully get spotted so I can continue my development as a footballer".
Right to Dream's Head Scout Joe Mulberry said, "Titi is one of those players who brings something special to any team, he is creative, quick, offensive minded and can often surprise defenders and I'm sure his many friends at Hartpury will join staff and students at Right to Dream to wish him well!"

NOTE TO EDITORS
This year the Right to Dream Academy signed a three year partnership agreement with Vodafone Ghana, enabling RtD to continue to deliver world class coaching and a specialised programme of personal development, education and leadership skills to some of the brightest but underprivileged young football prospects in Ghana.
To date, four RtD graduates have signed professional contracts for European Clubs - two senior internationals, one turning out for the Black Stars at just 19 years-of-age, three junior internationals; and a further 24 continue their studies whilst furthering their football ambitions on full scholarships at leading universities, private boarding schools and colleges in the US and the UK. Other RtD graduates either work within the sports industry or have secured contracts with Ghanaian Premier League clubs. In addition to mentoring students at the Academy, they also assist at local development projects on a voluntary basis.
