9 medals for RtD Paralympians as they dominate Unity Games in Ghana
July 2011
Victory bling: Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe and Anita Fordjour with their 9 medal haul.
As a warm-up for upcoming qualification events for London2012 it couldn't have gone better for Right to Dream Paralympians Raphael and Anita. After joining the academy full-time in June, the wheelchair track atheletes have been training with coaches Ryan Forshaw and Alexandra Main on the Volta Dam, Tema Athletics Track and Legon Stadium.
Raphael and Anita are half of the Right to Dream Paralympian team that also includes powerlifter Charles Nartey and Paracyclist Alem Mumuni. The aim of the Paralympic programme at Right to Dream is to give these athletes the best possible chance of qualifiying for London 2012 and use the opportunity to help change perceptions about disability in Ghana from a negative to a positive one
As Anita says:
"I want to use this opportunity to say to children with disability in Ghana, anything is possible.".
